April Ross
April Ross has won more than one gold medal in the Olympic Games. She is among the few female beach volleyball players to achieve this feat. Alix Kallineman will compete with April Ross in Tokyo to win her third gold in the coming days. Ross's objective is her first Olympic gold medal. With her age of 39, it may be Ross' last chance to take home an Olympic gold medal. Still confident but she is not sure. Ross, via NBC Boston, said that He was certain that we can achieve a gold medal, if we played our best. This is why I'm going to try an extra bit of luck as well. Ross was born in 1982 in Costa Mesa California where she resided with her parents and her sister. She was able to participate in numerous activities during her time at Newport Harbor High School. She was a basketball player and also ran the track as well as her indoor volleyball achievements as a pre-collegiate athlete. It was clear that she was cut above the rest in her other sport. Based on her bio, she was an outside blocker as well as a middle hitter on the court of volleyball during her high school career. The results of her efforts were acknowledged by her being selected as 1999 Gatorade's Circle of Champions National Player of the Year. Her volleyball skills also earned her the Orange County Athlete of the Award in the year 2000. Ross and Klineman have been performing their duties as of 2017. The reality is that Ross was already an established participant in the scene of beach volleyball before they formed the team. In fact, she won multiple major tournaments with two different teams, one of which was famous for her volleyball skills. They teamed up with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, in addition to serving as a coach and Klineman. Together, Kessy Ross, she was a major force on the international stage, claiming the world championship in 2009. They won a Silver Medal in the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) and Misty Maytreanor clinched gold beating them to it. Ross became Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's exit. The team won bronze at the beach volleyball competition in the Rio Olympics the year 2016. Ross was a college player who played for the Trojans at USC before beginning starting her professional career. She played in high school and in some years prior to getting on the beach to become a professional. In fact, her time through the institution was quite impressive. Her achievements included an All-American as well as Pac-10 Freshman of the Year in the year 2000. She also helped the Trojans advance to into the Final Four. During her sophomore season, she went through a heartbreaking personal loss but still managed to win an All-American. Over the course of her final two seasons, she took the Trojans to the top of the mountain and clinched consecutive national titles. In her own way, she had established herself as an all-time legend receiving the 2003-04 Honda Sports Award as the highest ranked female volleyball player. Ross was a major in international relations at USC. Margie Ross didn't see her daughter reach the top in beach volleyball. Ross's mother died in 2001, when Ross was still a USC sophomore. Her breast cancer had been diagnosed. Yet, she is able to keep her mother's memory close and dear. Margie is an inspiration while on the beaches as well as throughout her entire life.
