Taylor

Taylor Swift was a rarity in the world of pop music: she was the sole celebrity who transitioned from the traditional to the mainstream, and to become an international icon of pop culture. Swift left country music like it was an additional layer of herself, proving that she's possibly the most intelligent pop singer/songwriter of her time. A person who has the ability to tap into the mood of times to make her music personal and also sing in the other direction. The skills she displayed were apparent on her first hits, particularly the neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album 2008's Fearless showcased a songwriter discovering who she was and, in doing so, gaining an audience of mass. Fearless became a worldwide hit and not just in North America (where it earned with six platinum awards for Top Ten Hits Love Story as well as "You Belong with Me") however, in Canada, Australia and the U.K. and many other countries. Swift could build on her popularity through Speak Now almost two year after. The three albums that followed (Reputation 2017, 1989 2014, and Red 2012) Red 2012 1989 2014, along with Reputation 2017. Swift's popularity only increased. This was a sure indicator that Swift had entered the new music scene which she was able to fit into. Her name was always in the forefront of pop even after she changed her own style on her sister albums folklore & Evermore in 2020.
