Walker was a student at the Germantown Friends School in Philadelphia's Germantown in 1994, and was awarded the diploma in 1994. After that, she went to Harvard College where she earned the Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998. Welker was married John Hughes in Philadelphia, who was a known marketing director.
