Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She was co-founder of The Huffington Post, is the CEO and founder of Thrive Global as well an writer of 15 novels. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, writer, philanthropist and television host, and also the proprietor of The Huffington Post. She moved from Greece to England when she was 16 years old, and earned an MA at Cambridge University in Economics. The famous debating society The Cambridge Union was her first presidency and she did it when she was 21. As a conservative syndicated blogger, after graduating she was able to be an influential voice for the Huffington Post. The fame of her name helped to get a number of prominent contributors to share their opinions about news from the world of politics and culture. Arianna was famous in 2003, when she ran as an independent in the California recall elections to replace Governor Davis. Alongside that, she also spearheaded the Detroit initiative to promote fuel-efficient cars. In 2009 she was named by Forbes as one of the top female media personality, taking the 12th position on their list. The same year the Guardian included her in the top 100 media list. In 2011 AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post and made her president of that media group which included many at the time-current AOL properties too such as Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. Elli has two siblings, Konstantinos Stasinopoulos as well as Elli, who are both management consultants and journalists. Although she was a close friend to her father, it was her relationship with her mother that formed her entire life. Even as a young girl she demonstrated leadership skills that she still is known for. When she was sixteen, she left America to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college, where she was the third and first female to be elected president. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of Master's in Economics. After graduation, she began working as a columnist critic, and a television host. Her appearance in Face the music with Bernard Levin was also noteworthy. She began to write books with his guidance for editing.
