Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She's written 15 books, and she is co-founder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is an author and television host, as well as philanthropist as well as the owner and editor of The Huffington Post. She emigrated from Greece to England aged 16 where she earned an MA in Economics from Cambridge University in Economics. As the first foreign student to hold the position of president in the prestigious debate club The Cambridge Union, at age 21 she took over the presidency. Then she became an author for a conservative newspaper after the graduation ceremony and, when The Huffington Post launched a few years after, she created an online platform for voice that offered criticisms on the political landscape. Her popularity helped her to convince several celebrities to contribute their opinion regarding current affairs, the culture and politics. Arianna gained fame in 2003 after she decided to run for a non-partisan position for the California recall election to replace the Governor Davis. In addition, she was also the leader of a Detroit campaign to encourage fuel-efficient vehicles. Forbes named her as the top woman in the field of media in the year 2009. Her ranking was 12th on the list. The Guardian added her to the list of top 100 media outlets in the year 2009. AOL Inc. named her president of their media division in 2011, after they bought The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post included other AOL brands like Engadget, AOLmusic Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli is the daughter of Konstantinos Stasinopoulos and Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, who both are journalists and consultants in management. Her character was formed by the closeness she had to her mother, and the bond she shared with her father even though she was very close to her father. In her early years, she displayed her leadership skills and is a household name. As a 16-year-old her family moved into her home in United Kingdom for her higher education. She attended Girton College Cambridge. While in college and was in Cambridge Union, she joined the college debating societies and eventually was its first female and foreign president. In 1972 she received a degree in Economics. After graduation, she began working as a columnist critic, and a television host. She appeared alongside Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began to write her own books with his assistance.
