Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the US. She is a Greek-American writer, syndicated writer of columns and a businesswoman. She was a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington has been a TV host, journalist, philanthropist and author for more than ten years. Her role also includes being the founder of The Huffington Post, an independently-liberal online newsmagazine. She emigrated out of Greece to England at the age of 16 and received an MA at Cambridge University in Economics. The infamous debating society The Cambridge Union was her first presidency and she did it before the age of 21. As a conservative syndicated blogger, after graduating she became the voice of Huffington Post. Arianna was able to attract numerous prominent contributors to post their opinions regarding politics and culture. Arianna rose to fame when she made the decision to stand for a non-partisan position in the California recall election to replace then Governor Davis. Apart from this she also was the leader of an Detroit project that promoted the use of fuel-efficient cars. Forbes named her one of the "most influential woman" in the media industry with her ranking at the 12th spot. Guardian placed her on their list of the 100 most important media figures in 2009. In 2011 AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post and made her president of that media company, which also included a number of existing AOL properties too such as Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. The parents of her were Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, who was a consultant in management as well as a journalist. While she was close with father, her relationship to her mom was the defining factor in the rest of her life. In her earliest times, she demonstrated abilities to lead, and for this are still prominently known. When she was 16 she relocated to the United Kingdom to pursue her study and then enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. In college, she was a member of the Cambridge Union, a college debate club. As the third woman president and first foreigner, she served as the head of the Cambridge Union. In 1972 she graduated with the degree of master's in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a journalist-critic and TV host. Also, with Bernard Levin she appeared on an episode of Face the music.
